January 24-Feburary 7, 2009 A Strange Land Group Exhibition at Creative Research Lab, Austin The Creative Research Laboratory presents A STRANGE LAND, featuring work by Beili Liu, Lynn Richardson, Cauleen Smith, Chris Taylor, and Mapping Exchange Austin-Argentina Residency artist, Erica Bohm. The evolving exhibition rotates around the phenomenon of cultural modification to diverse societies and geography with a focus on issues of displacement and the blending of ethos, landscapes, and personal histories in a foreign land. |

September 13, 2008 Art Farm poetry reading at The Little House Art Farm Artist Residency, Nebraska By Cheryl Ratliff Poet Cheryl Ratliff lived in the Little House at Art Farm during her residency there in September 2008. The Little House is a permanent sculpture that Beili created at Art Farm in 2004. During the one month stay, Cheryl cooked, slept, and wrote on a type writer in the little house. "This is aesthetic dissipation at its finest, certain to appeal to the highest expectations of your brain’s reward circuits: only one of many multimedia-driven events at Art Farm to help break your life’s pattern of tragic reserve. You’ll find it’s more fun than alcoholic skydiving."
