Sky Well is a site-specific installation created for the two-level gallery space at Masur Museum in Monroe, Louisiana. The installation is a visual response to the Black Bayou, a National Wild Life Refuge Reserve encircled by sprawling urban landscapes.

Sky Well consists of hundreds of organic, translucent elements suspended from the ceiling, descending 20’ towards the sand filled gallery floor, emphasizing the verticality of the open space connecting the two floors of the gallery. Silk organza is imprinted through Cyanotype process, resulting in rich and subtle shades of blue on its surface, and then embedded in clear epoxy resin. The translucency of the elements and the rhythmic balance of the composition allude to water, air, and the delicate balance between our urban life and the natural environment.
